Libraries have nothing similar to offer, unless you count 'their' discovery systems which are hardly 'theirs'Huh? What does that even mean? And then there is this;
As our French colleague said after interviewing 14 ECRs, they simply do not "see" libraries any more. Some of them have not gone to the library for years.That's some sound methodology you have there. How did Holly Else at the Times Higher Education choose to report this?
The report goes on to say that libraries are "mainly considered as a place for undergraduates to sit and work and that obviously makes them very expensive assets." Which is total bollocks. Libraries are expensive because of artificially inflated resource costs. Who is responsible for that again? Oh that's right, major publishing houses from both sides of the Atlantic.
